Such Un-Gurmat traditions have come in Sikhi that before eating food, some – ‘Brahmins in Sikh garbs‘ – pretensciously ask who has cooked the food, who has touched the food etc. Obviously these people are not Sikhs of Guru Nanak, because Guru Nanak has critiqued, debunked and rejected such inhuman practices in no uncertain terms.
Also, it was never the intention of the Sikh Gurus that one type of Hindu Brahminism should come to an end and a new type of Sikh Brahminism should replace it.
The Sri Guru Granth Sahib (SGGS) is the most Unique philosophy of life. This is an Enlightening Message of universality for all. It is the divine Giyan-Wisdom of freedom from casteism, biases, hatred, fear, illusions, delusions, superstitions, doubts, vices/Bikaar, anxiety, and so on. It is a test of a successful, happy, selfless, fearless, unbiased and virtuous life journey (SACHIAARAA) in harmony with the cosmic Hukam (Universal System-Rule-Law of Nature, ਕੁਦਰਤੀ ਨਿਯਮ…). It is the divine principle of self-examination of life in the Bani of the Gurus and the Bhagats contained in the SGGS.
Guru Nanak teaches humanity is One. However, the Sikh community being casteless is a great MYTH! Although decried by the Gurmat of Guru Nanak, casteism (Jaat Paat) is practiced at every level of the Sikh community.
The SGGS is the embodiment of the Gurmat principles by which a Sikh (lifelong learner, student of the SGGS) should live. However, a closed minded, self centered, fake or egoist section of the Sikh community is bent on destroying that image by creating caste system within this casteless society of humans.
Brahmin Sikh!
Historically, Brahmins and other castes would look down upon, discriminate against, verbally abuse and Socially distance themselves from Shudras (so called untouchables). Owing to utter foolishness or ignorance, people follow this ‘untouchability’ system for centuries in order to maintain their fake outer purity. For instance, if a Shudra should accidentally touch someone of a higher caste, such as a Brahmin, then that Brahmin would consider himself or herself contaminated (ਭਿੱਟ), and extensive rites of purification would be necessary to remove the stain!
Before and during the time of Guru Nanak’s Journey on this earth, Brahmins/Pundits in their stubborn mindedness and fanaticism would accept neither COOCKED FOOD nor water across caste lines. All this PAKHAND has been critiqued and rejected by Guru Nanak. This inhuman practice even exists today! Furthermore, not only Brahmins/Pandits but others also practice such Pakhand to a certain extent, including Sikhs. Such fakery divide people!
It seems as there is a new class of Sikhs as well: The Brahamins Sikhs who, for the sake of outer purity, also cook their own separate food! They don’t let anybody touch it or partake it. Some even go to the extent of not allowing anybody enter their kitchens – not from a hygienic standpoint but because of some foolish belief system and dogmas! This foolish practice is anti-Gurmat. Apparently, those who practice this fakery are fake Sikhs.
Un-Gurmat practice
Afraid of being contaminated or polluted when touched by others (ਭਿੱਟ), these illiterate fanatics and Pakhnadee (hypocrites) who call themselves sant, GurSikhs, Baabaa, Brahm Giyani etc. will refuse to partake in the Langar (common kitchen) and will not eat with rest of the congregation in Gurdwaras or at their Deraas. Instead, they cook their own separate food in pretentiousness, using their separate utensils and kitchens or hearths. Let sharing the food with others, they allow very selective people to enter their kitchen!
This practice is totally contrary to the Unique and Revolutionary Gurmat of Guru Nanak. Let’s listen to the Gurbani of SGGS preaching Brahmins, Pandits etc. who were doing this sort of Pakhand.
: Those who devour humanity by plundering it (i.e. those who violate or usurp someone’s right or take away something that rightfully belongs to others – ਪਰਾਇਆ ਹਕ ਖਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ) perform Namaz (Muslim prayer). There is the sacred thread around the necks of those who wield the knife of such robbery (corruption, bribe, etc.). To whose house the Brahmin (clergy or Pujaaree) blow the conch to sanctify their doings, they also have the same taste (i.e. they are also corrupt). The capital of falsehood is the only thing they have. They only trade in falsehood. They mislead people by speaking falsehood and make living through falsehood (deception). The sense of shame and Dharma is not even close to them, it is far away from them. Nanak, in this way, there is falsehood all around in the name of religion. (To pretend to be religious or Dhaarmic) You put sacred marks to the forehead and wear saffron Dhoti (loin-cloth). But you are butcher of the world (oppressing your own innocent people. What is this religious hypocrisy for (Pakhand)?). Wearing blue robes, they seek the approval of their Muslim rulers. They accept money from the Muslim rulers, but still worship the Puranas. They eat the meat of the goats, killed (mercilessly) after the Muslim prayers are read over them. and yet they do not allow anyone else to enter their kitchen areas. After purifying the kitchen floor with cow-dung they draw boundary line. The false Pundits come and sit on the kitchen floor. They tell others, do not come near our kitchen, lest our kitchen and food will be polluted. (Pujaaree) commit evil deeds with their polluted bodies (corrupt mind, thinking…). With filthy mind, they keep doing ‘Chully’. Nanak, remember (think, meditate) the Truth (Creator). If you are pure (within), then you will realize Truth. ||2|| (sggs 471-472).
: (Freeloading/Pakhandi Sant/Sadh) they wear three and a half yard long loincloths, and triple-wound sacred threads. They wear rosaries around their necks, and glittering jugs in their hands. Just because of such religious paraphernalia they should not be called Sant of God — they are thugs of Baanaaras (i.e., religious conmen, cheats, robbers…). Fallen from human thinking, such pretentious so called Sant are not pleasing to me. Because, they rob their victims of not only their wealth, but also of their life which is like gulping down the entire tree instead of consuming just a branch. ||1||Pause|| They wash their pots and pans before putting them on the stove, and wash the wood before lighting it. (To show others how holy they are) they dig earth, and make two hearths – one for their use and he second for others to use. (But in their real life, they are so cruel) they rob their victims as if they devoured the whole person (i.e. exploit the gullible people and destroy their life). ||2|| Such sinners always keep roaming around (looking for more victims), but they call themselves ‘Aprass‘ (i.e. untouched by vices or any other person). They always live in arrogance and thus drown themselves (in vices) along with their family (i.e. those in their company also suffer for their deeds). ||3|| (sggs 476).
Apparently on account of selfishness, foolishness, greed and ignorance these Sikhs have totally ignored the very basic principles of the Sikhi of Guru Nanak:
: Through the letter ‘ਙੰਙਾ’, the SGGS gives us the lesson that one may have the knowledge of six Shastras (i.e. Saankh, Niyaaye, Visheshik, Mimaasa, JOG or Yoga and Vedant); one may practice Pranayaam actions of breathing in (‘ਪੂਰਕੁ’), holding the breath in (‘ਕੁੰਭਕ’), and breathing out (‘ਰੇਚਕ’); one may be engaging in religious debates, practicing meditations and bathing at many Teerath or pilgrimage places; (for the sake of external purity) who cooks his own food (‘ਸੋਮਪਾਕ’), doesn’t let anyone touch him nor touches anyone or anything (‘ਅਪਰਸ’) and may live in jungles (‘ਉਦਿਆਨੀ’) as hermit; but if such person does not have Love for Raam – Naam in his mind; then consider all his religious actions (described before) as useless or worthless. Even (a so called untouchable pariah or) lower caste person is better than that person. (253 sggs).
These foolish, anti-Gurmat, stubborn-minded Brahmin-Sikhs think the food or water get defiled by direct or indirect contact with other Sikhs they pretensciously think are inferiors.
This is one of the burning example of a stubborn minded (ਮਨ ਹਠ) person’s display of his/her foolishness, ignorance, arrogance, false ego-sense (Haumai), anti-Gurmat conduct, and so on.
The divine Wisdom of the SGGS thunders that no one would be helped along with one’s nonsense rituals stemming from Mayaic consciousness, concoctions, doubts (ਭਰਮ), superstitions, fear etc. The Gurbani in SGGS debunks such useless practices because they will not help anybody, Including Sikhs, become good human being.
If a Sikh does than why wouldn’t a Brahmin be helped along with his foolish practices, or a Muslim or a Christian or a Yogi with his? How absurd! The fact of the matter is that the Gurbani’s instructions are for the good of all mankind; including Sikhs as well.
Yet, afraid of being contaminated, many self proclaimed sants-baabaas (and their equally ignorant followers), fanatically cook their own food; using their separate utensils and kitchens! Although they preach or attend the congregations at religious gatherings but refuse to eat food from the common kitchen (Langar), or share their own cooking with others.
Apparently, when it comes to God, Hukam or Spiritual matters such Manmukh-Saakat-Mayadhaaree (Unenlightened beings) do not know the difference between the ear and the elbow. He/she either does not care or does not understand the real spiritual Message contained within the Guru Shabad!
: People are engaged in many kinds of special efforts and greatly reflect on the six shastras. Smearing their bodies with ashes, many people roam around the so called Teerath locations, make their body lean, and bind their hair into matted locks. Without Uniting with Mool within, all suffer in pain; just as a silkworm spins a cocoon with joy and then gets caught in it. Similarly these people get caught in the web of their own deeds, such as Poojaa, making ritual marks on their bodies, cooking their own food, and making many other pompous shows (Pakhand). ||2||11||20|| (sggs 1389).
In ancient India the system of division was more based on character and capability. However, today, cast is decided by birth. The result is now a days people eat and drink like a Kshatriya (Khatris), live and work like a Vaishya, think and behave like a Shudra, but pretend to be a Brahmin or of high social status!
According to the Wisdom of the SGGS, the real contaminated person is who lacks Giyan-Wisdom. The Gurbani compares such ignorant, illiterate, corrupt, foolish and depraved persons with animals as follows.
: That mortal who lacks the Gur-mantra (Guru’s counsel, advice, Wisdom, Upadesh, ਸਲਾਹ), cursed and fallen (depraved, polluted…) is his life. That wicked person is a dog, a pig, a jackass, a crow, a snake (mind’s behavioral forms in this very life, here and now, not after death). ||33|| (1356).
: (Jaat Paat of a person) is as he acts (sggs 1330).
: In Naam is ‘Jaat Pat’ and honor of who has become the Gurmukh (sggs 230).
Jooth (ਜੂਠ)
Literally, Jooth (ਜੂਠ), Joothaa (ਜੂਠਾ), Joothan (ਜੂਠਨ) etc. generally implies what is left off after eating food; food ‘touched’ (ਭਿੱਟ) by others, and so on.
This is the very antithesis of the Gurmat (the Universal Teaching of the SGGS) — an act of ‘Bipar-Vaad‘. Apparently, due to ignorance of the unique Gurmat of Guru Nanak, the majority of us lead an almost unconscious life, even though we are breathing and acting!
There is also an another meaning of Jooth (ਜੂਠ) — inner impurity, inner filth, inner garbage, defiled or corrupted conscience (Surat), inner pollution, untruthfulness, ignorance, falsehood, evil thoughts etc. All these are just a few of the variations of the vices/Bikaar, faults of the false ego-sense (Haumai). Guru Nanak Says:
: If the mind is polluted, then the body is polluted, and the tongue is polluted as well (i.e., all senses become defiled with vices/Bikaars). With false mouths, people speak falsehood. They cannot be made pure (by external Karamkaand). Without the Holy Water of the Shabad, they are not cleansed. From the True One alone comes (this) Truth. (sggs 56).
Those who are false within, and (display themselves as) honorable on the outside, are ample in this world (common, wide-spread…). (sggs 473).
Guru Nanak further exposes stupidity of such people:
: ‘Jooth‘ or inner impurity of mind (filth, evil thoughts, vices/Bikaar, impurity, corruption…) is not eliminated just by singing Ragas accompanied by music, and it is not eliminated by reading the Vedas either. Inner Impurity is not eliminated by doing worship on different phases of the sun and the moon and specific days. Inner Impurity does not go away by forsaking food or by ritual cleansing baths at the so called holy places. Inner Impurity is not washed away by rain which falls everywhere. Filth of mind does not go away by wandering around the earth or by doing penance (such as standing) in cold water etc. Inner Impurity does not go away by doing breathing exercises and ritualistic meditation. Nanak, the one devoid of Gur-Giyan (Wisdom), has no redeeming Virtues at all (i.e. such person’s Inner Impurity will not go away). Because this ‘Jooth‘ or filth proliferates in mind when one does not internalize the enlightening Message contained in the Guru Shabad. ||1|| (sggs 1240).
Such (ਸੁੱਚ)
To the contrary, the terms like ਸੁੱਚ (Such), ਸੁੱਚਾ (Suchaa), ਸੂਚਾ (Soochaa), ਸੁੱਚਤਾ (Suchataa), ਸੂਚੇ (Sooche) etc. are opposite of ਜੂਠ (Jooth).
There must be a reason as to why the Gurbani of the SGGS talks about all this. One thing is for sure, that is, the Gurbani neither supports such nonsense, nor encourages it, and nor recommends it. In fact, such empty rituals are totally contrary to the Universal Teaching of the SGGS (Gurmat).
: O brother, Inner purity cannot be achieved sans realizing the Creator, the incomprehensible and the eternal source of purity (sggs 608).
: Without the Truth, how can anyone be pure? (sggs 269).
: If (someone) is impure within, (he) cannot become pure (without washing the mind with Shabad). How rare is the person who washes (his mind) with the Shabad (Wisdom, Upadesh, Sikhiaa, Naam…). (sggs 1344).
: First, purifying himself, (the Brahmin) comes and sits in his purified enclosure. The pure foods, which no one else has touched, are placed before him (by the host). Being purified, he takes his food (which is untouched), and begins to read some sacred verses. But it is then thrown into a filthy place (i.e. stomach), so who would bear the blame for polluting such a pure meal? (According to brahmin’s own belief), the grain is sacred, the water is sacred; the fire and salt are sacred as well; when the fifth thing, the ghee, is added, then the food is considered to have become pure and sanctified. When this pure food comes in contact with the sinful human body, the pure and immaculate food becomes so impure (human waste) that it stinks and is spat upon. Similarly, says Nanak, that person who does not remember the Devine Naam (Giyan-Wisdom, Virtues…), and without the Naam eats tasty foods – know this: such a mouth is disgraceful. ||1|| (sggs 473).
A mental disease
In a nutshell, the practice of gaudy, superficial display of ਜੂਠ (Jooth), ਸੁੱਚ (Such) etc. is the way of the Haumai (false ego-sense). In other words, the practice of such empty rituals are symptomatic of one’s being a fanatic person. And a fanatic or a stubborn minded person is indicated to be a first class fool (‘ਗਵਾਰ’)! Stubborn mindedness being a mental illness or psychological disorder, the Gurmat Wisdom of the SGGS asks Sikhs to eradicate it.
: Who performs ritualistic deeds in stubborn mindedness, he spiritually deteriorates. (sggs 1059).
: (O my mind) ritual fasts, prayers, bodily purification (ablutions, etc.), going to all places of pilgrimages, and wandering without eating anything, or cooking food remaining untouched by anybody, Nivalee Karam (Yogic cleaning rituals) and doing many other such deeds, burning incense and lighting lamps; O my mind, all of these endeavors are still not equal to God’s Naam. (sggs 1229).
Just like Brahmins or Pundits, this new class of so called Sikhs who cook their separate food ‘untouched’, will refuse to partake in the Langar (common kitchen) or eat with the rest of the Sangat (congregation) sitting in a Pangat. Clearly, they totally defied one of the important Gurmat principle of ‘Sangat‘ and ‘Pangat‘ and equality. Instead, they cook their own food in their separate utensils and kitchens, untouched.
The author is not making this up. This is neither a hearsay nor a fiction. The author has seen such bogus people with his own eyes. Probably many of you also have come across them as well. In fact some of them call themselves Sant, Baabaa, Brahm Giyani, and so on. One wonders if they are Sikhs! If they are, then, don’t they read SGGS? The truth is these Pakhandee people are brahmins in Sikh garbs.
: Sootak (impurity) of the mind is greed, and the Sootak of the tongue is falsehood. Sootak of the eyes is to gaze (with lust) upon the beauty of another woman and wealth pertaining to others. Sootak of the ears is that (people) listen to the slander of others. Nanak, no matter how externally cleansed/pure people look, but with all these inner impurities, such people trapped in vices/Bikaar (Jum) always falls in the cycle of mental and spiritual life and death. ||2|| (sggs 472).
Apparently, what they do is because of some nonsensical belief system and dogmas that has nothing to do with the Gurmat of Guru Nanak. They are controlled by fears arising from the false ego-sense (Haume) that seeks security, safety, and shelter in falsehood. The Gurmat (Giyan-Wisdom of the Gurbani) liberates us from superstitions, confusion, limitedness, foolishness (Moorakhataa), and morbid fear. It gives us hope, purpose, consciousness of spiritual need, and joy. The SGGS repudiates (ਖੰਡਨ: Khandan) very crux of all types of rituals:
: (O Pandit, according to your own belief) the mother is Joothee (impure), and the father is also Joothaa (impure). and the children they bear are also Joothe. (per your belief) when people are born, they are impure and are impure when they die; the unfortunate ones die in impurity. ||1|| Tell me, O Pandit, which place is pure (Soochaa)? Where should I sit to eat my meal (so that it may remain pure (Soochaa)? ||1||Pause|| The tongue is Joothee (impure etc.), and its speech is Joothee. The eyes and ears are all Joothe. The Jooth of the sensual organs never depart; O Brahmin, O’ man, burnt in the fire of ego of your Brahmin caste, (tell me what is pure?). ||2|| Both the fire is and the water is Joothaa because they have life in them and impure is the woman who cooked the food while sitting in the kitchen. Joothee is the ladle which serves the food. Joothe is the one who sits to eat it. ||3|| Joothaa is the cow dung (used to besmear floors), and impure is the kitchen. Joothee are the lines that mark it off (the kitchen markings that indicate not to enter there). Says Kabeer, only those persons are pure (Soochae), who have attained true understanding about God. ||4||1||7|| (sggs 1195).
The SGGS thunders that no one would be helped along with such nonsense rituals stemming from ignorance, superstitions and fears. Accordingly, the Gurbani rejects such useless practices, because they will not help anybody realize God or become a good human being.
: Without internalizing the Enlightening Message contained in the Shabad, inner purity is not obtained, even though the soul (mind) may practice all sorts of rituals. (sggs 651).
: (Guru Nanak tells Yogis) It’s of NO use wandering around (in peculiar external appearances at places of pilgrimage, mountains, jungles etc.) — renunciation (of world, society, family etc.) is not the way to liberate from the trappings of life, world, material etc. There can be no liberation without the guidance of the God-connecting Shabad (divine Message of the God-Connected Guru). ||1||Pause|| (sggs 938).
According to the Gurbani, whosoever practices such absurd rituals is a fool, fanatic, unenlightened Manmukh; because he/she does not understand. Apparently, when it comes to the Gurmat, God and spiritual matters, a Manmukh does not know the Sikhi Siddhaant form a hole in a wall! The interesting thing is that many who carry on such bogus rituals (of all their pompous shows – ਅਡੰਬਰ) call themselves sant-baabaas and pure ones!
Clearly, the intellect that gets cut off from one’s Mool within (Source, Origin, Jot...) by becoming stubborn becomes the external or false ego-sense (Haume). When a person is represented by such conditioned intellect (Mayaic Budhi), his conduct becomes stubborn, unyielding, corrupt, untruthful, selfish, fanatic, and so on. He loses the sense of consequences of his actions! Accordingly, he refuses to hearken to God and the divine Word; and he refuses to receive correction.
- ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਜੋ ਪਹਿਰੈ ਖਾਇ ॥ ਜਿਉ ਕੂਕਰੁ ਜੂਠਨ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਇ ॥੧॥ : Without remembering the Naam, whatever a person wears and eats, it is as a wandering dog eating leftover food (false or filth). ||1|| (sggs 240).
The Gurbani teaches us exactly how anyone can gain true inner purity (‘Suchataa-ਸੁੱਚਤਾ’) and how each one of us can become Suchaa (ਸੁੱਚਾ), ਸੂਚਾ (Soochaa), ਸੂਚੇ (Sooche), etc. – pure, unconditioned, unpolluted, truthful, and so on. As indicated in the Gurbani, one can not become Suchaa (ਸੁੱਚਾ) without Shabad-Vichaar.
: Without killing this (duality, Maya), one’s impurity is not washed off (sggs 238).
: Those who are false, fraud, crafty, hypocritical and there is always falsehood in their mouth; considered woman impure because she goes through her periods month after month. Such crafty people who (considered a woman impure, but) considered themselves pure by just washing their body from outside, they should not be considered pure (i.e. they should be considered false, fraud and hypocrites). Nanak, only they are truly pure within whose minds God is realized — their mind and conduct become pure and unbiased, and do not discriminate). (sggs 472).
In a nutshell, as explained by the Gurbani of SGGS, we cannot become ਸੁੱਚੇ (Suche: pure from inside, etc.) without Understanding the Truth. In other words, if we are ‘Joothe’ (ਜੂਠੇ) from within, then we cannot be pure. That is, so long the mind is Joothaa (false, impure, conditioned, contaminated, etc.), everything we eat will also be Joothaa.
॥ : (People’s) minds are false and impure; that which they eat is impure and defiled (Joothaa Without the (Wisdom of the Gur-) Shabad, no one achieves a lifestyle of good conduct. One who follows the Guru’s teachings, realize the Creator and remains immersed it the Creator. ||16|| (sggs 1285).
: Some people, outwardly appear to be pure but their minds are filthy with vices/Bikaar. Those who are outwardly pure and yet polluted within, lose their lives (just as a gambler loses his money) in the gamble. (sggs 919).
: Evil intent, cruelty, habit of slandering others, and anger are the vices which pollute the mind. When these four vices are in the mind, then what good are the ceremonial lines drawn around the cooking area. They who make truth, self discipline and good deeds as the sacred lines and make realization of God’s Naam as their ritual bath (ਤੀਰਥ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ). Nanak, those who do not teach sinfulness to others, becoming exalted in life. ||1|| (sggs 91).
To put it otherwise, ‘Jooth’ (ਜੂਠ) or impurity arises not from someone touching one’s food, kitchen or clothes, but when we turn our face away from internalizing the Enlightening spiritual Message contained in the Guru Shabad:
: Defilement within comes from by turning away (from Giyan, Wisdom, Truth…). (sggs 1240).
: Outwardly, the (hypocrite) washes off the filth, but the impurity of his mind does not go away (sggs 88).
Superficial purity
Clearly, those who practice Jooth (ਜੂਠ), Such (ਸੁੱਚ) etc. (superficial cleanliness or purity) do not either (1) read the SGGS; or (2) they do not understand what they read; or (3) in their Pakhand (hypocrisy) they do not implement (ਅਮਲ) what they have read and understood. Thus, either in their stupidity or hypocrisy, they have taken the external or literal meaning of the terms such as Jooth, Sucha etc.
We should be aware of these anti-Gurmat elements, and not encourage their Un-Gurmat practices. Fearlessly, we should confront them and ask them where it says in the SGGS what they practice and preach. It seems like these religious con-artists take pride in their ignorance: they celebrate their ignorance as a virtue! Apparently, these people are endangering the Sikhi by defiling it. Shattering all this stupidity, Guru Nanak teaches:
: Saffron flowers, deer’s musk, and gold embellish and please all. Similarly O God, Your Bhagat (Das, Jan, Gurmukh…) spread their fragrance (Wisdom / Virtues) like sandalwood to all. No one ever calls the (expensive or richer items such as) silk and ‘Ghee‘ polluted (or whose hands have touched them). In the same manner, O God, Your Bhagat (Das, Jan, Gurmukh…) is immaculate, does not matter what caste he/she belongs to. (sggs 721).
The Gurbani defines itself. A person with the understanding and practice (ਅਮਲ) of Gurmat does not accept the concocted stories or rituals of any Pandit, Mulan, Yogi, self-styled Giyani or any Baabaa as Naam (divine Giyan-Wisdom…). He ventures to read, listen, and internalize the Enlightening spiritual Message contained in the Guru Shabad.
: ALL that the Pandit and Mullah Clergy have prescribed or presented to us, I have DISCARDED (while walking on the Path of Spirituality). I DISCARD IT ALL and have ACCEPTED NOTHING at all. ||3|| (sggs 1159).
Ending
Obviously, these Pakhandi, Bhekhi (ਭੇਖੀ) and con-artists Brahmin in Sikhs garbs have never paid attention to the Guru Shabad:
- ਦੂਧੁ ਤ ਬਛਰੈ ਥਨਹੁ ਬਿਟਾਰਿਓ ॥ ਫੂਲੁ ਭਵਰਿ ਜਲੁ ਮੀਨਿ ਬਿਗਾਰਿਓ ॥੧॥ ਮਾਈ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਹਾ ਲੈ ਚਰਾਵਉ ॥ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਫੂਲੁ ਅਨੂਪੁ ਨ ਪਾਵਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ : The calf has already tasted the milk in the teats. The bumble bee has ruined the flower and fish has polluted/defiled (ਜੂਠਾ) the water. ||1|| O my mother (i.e. intellect, Budh), where can I find anything worth offering for God’s Poojaa? I find no other flower or anything not similarly defiled. ||1||Pause|| (sggs 525).
: I thought of bringing a pot, filling it with water and bathing the stone idol of God. Water is defiled (ਜੂਠਾ) because millions of living beings live in water – and God being present in them all has already taken the bath – so why should I bathe this idol of God (who is not as the All-pervasive God)? ||1|| (sggs 485).

Thank you brother, Manjeet Singh, Ji for your reply.
Talking of Sach, or truth, only our Creator is truth, and pure, un contaminated, his creation is impure, Joothie, contaminated, simply because it is in an impure form, you may have heard of God is in Everything, but everything is not in God, that is also very true, we often say that since God created everything from his own Energy, therefore He prevails in everything, everything emanated out of Him, this is somewhat misleading and not totally truth.
So allow me to explain how I see this: All matter is created from Energy, and energy is God, or is part of God himself. (Our Creator)
So those of you who understand a bit of science, in particular electromagnetic induction, here we have electromagnetic energy in one form from a particular source, this energy can be transformed into another form into something else or in another source separate from the original source so the original source remains un-contaminated, the energy got transferred indirectly without physical contact through electromagnetic induction principle. This principle is used in Transformers where the source of energy from say Coal burning in power station generates heat that makes steam which in turn drives turbine blades to spin a Generator, the generator consists of lots of wires which is made to spin so fast through an invisible magnetic field, such that it starts to generate secondary energy, so if one was to contaminate the secondary energy then that contamination does not get passed onto Primary source of Energy,
God is the Principle ans main source of all Energies, it created matter such as Suns and stars, planets etc, galaxies, so our Sun was created by Primary or ultimate source of energy (God) in turn Sun burns with a nuclear fission reaction, giving out heat and light, that caused things on earth to happen such as grow plants trees, biological life, which millions of years later became coal under being covered with miles of soil and weight of matter due to gravity, matter converted to coal and gas and oil, that supplies most of our energy needs, Energy cannot be destroyed and it cannot be created (That is exactly what we say about God , who was never created nor born, nor will he die) Ajhuni Sahib Bhang, Gurprasad. So God or his energy is in everything, but all this creation is not in God, we are separate from God, so if we get dirty, contaminated God will always remain pure and uncontaminated.
So true, most people do not realise that every single one of us has emerged from the soil, of our mother earth, in it we go back, so how can anyone be pure? we are all jooth, or contaminated, our body is made of atoms which may be one time were part of someone’s excrement, atoms never die, atoms seperate from material to become different material, take our body when it dies, we cremate it, 80% of our body is made of water, about 20% made of bones and hairs, nails etc, and membrane of cells that contain the liquid content, so on burning the body, all water content boils and evaporates, up it goes and joins with the clouds, when the conditions become right it falls back to earth as rain, so whether there are pandits or brahmins, or anyone of any religion, our bodily fluids rain down on them, it rains and runs into farms, rivers, seas, seeps back into ground, we drill hand pumps and pump ground water, we drink it and the cycle continues, so we are made of atoms some of which may have been around for billions of years in many different forms, but still remaining as atoms,
The smell of dirty things, decaying things, yes puts us off, but these smells made of atoms of smelly substances, will evaporate or seperate from the smelly substance and rejoin something else and becomes a new smell that might smell like roses.
Thank you J Ji for your reply and kind words.
God bless you T Singh Ji !
