Man Invented Invisible God and Related Fear, Blind Faith, Fantasy…

Conditioned by brainwashing/manipulation by the fellow men, one becomes an ignorant puppet blind to reality and can never have a free mind. However, victims of manipulation do not know that they are the victim. They believe themselves to be free, because they are incapable of seeing the walls of the prison of their mental manipulation! It’s relatively easy to wake up the sleeping body but difficult to Awaken the enslaved mind for one’s thinking faculty gets jammed by brainwashing.

It is said that the Pakhand of one generation becomes the tradition (ਪਰੰਪਰਾ) of the next generation!

All the Guru Sahibs everywhere refused to accept the ancient traditions (Parampara-ਪਰੰਪਰਾ) of Vedas, Puranas, Shastras, Manu Smriti, Yogis, clergy system (Pujaare-Vaad) and their self-serving invented rituals (Karamkaand) etc. All Bhagat and GurSikhs (whose Bani is included in the SGGS) also did the same. They all rejected the Pujaaree invented Gods-Avatars (Devi-Devatas) etc.

Invisible God is man’s creation – invented from imagination

Man is a byproduct of about six million years of evolution. When human intelligence was not developed as today, humans were illiterate and did not have the ability to think and understand. Also, there were no governments, law and order, people were living a nomadic lifestyle etc.

Furthermore, in addition to being prey to formidable predators, they were victims of tyrannical individuals. On top of that, then people had to face many kinds of problems, including devastating natural disasters – earthquakes, hurricane, floods, lightening and thunders etc. People used to understand the simple problems and find solutions to those problems. But, they did not understand the natural challenges. Hence, facing and overcoming natural calamities was the biggest difficulty for human.

Then, in ignorance, man imagined that there is a very powerful or evil person in the sky or elsewhere who creates these natural calamities for them. He gave the name of God to this imaginary powerful person. In this ignorance, man accepted his allegiance before this fictitious God and started worshiping it.

According to their own imagination, people of the whole world in different geographies and periods have created their own God of different shapes and names. Then came all sorts of man-made religions (ਮਜ਼ਹਬ) that were formed in the name of these different Gods in different geographies and periods.

Some crafty and clever individuals became preachers, Pujaaree (clergy) of these man-made religions. Ignorant people believed the gossip of these conmen. They also concocted their unreal God’s abode in the sky (Dargah…) along with hell, heaven, Jum Doot, Dharma Raj, after death or afterlife reincarnation or transmigration, Sachkhand, and so on.

Along with this, then the self-serving preachers and Pujaaree cliques of these organized religions established all sorts of rituals (Karamkaand) in order to save the common people from the punishment of hell, natural calamities and other life problems.

The Gurbani in the SGGS compares them with a heron who deceptively stands on the edge of a pond with closed eyes to catch a fish or a frog.

This invention of invisible God from imagination – separate from man in the sky – is the greatest fraud that has been perpetrated on mankind. Fear is used to justify the existence of this unreal or make-believe God.

In turn, fear is used to manipulate and brainwash general public. Because fear creates organized religions, clergy (middleman between people and an invented God), foolishness, hypocrisy (Pakhand), deceit, fraud, mental blindness, blind faith (ਅੰਧ-ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ), superstitions, religious Karamkaand, and so on.

It’s the root cause of many types of doubts, illusions, religious conflicts, wars and killing in its name, including the utilization of manipulation as a tool for fleecing of the people etc. Faith is an another clever invention which is used to justify the absence of this make-believe god from reality.

These religious con artists created an unbelievable and complicated situation in India. As a new means of earning and revenue (business, ਧੰਧਾ) to sustain their idle and freeloading lifestyle, for example:

  • They created 330 millions gods and goddesses of different names, different shapes, and different powers to them. These various Gods are created by man at various periods.
  • They then created their idols accordingly.
  • They created many Path and Pooja for people’s to depend on for their success and suffering here and after death.
  • They created many kinds of dogmas, religious paraphernalia, religious garbs, antagonistic adherents, and so on.
  • They established many kinds of places of so called pilgrimage (Teerath).
  • They created inhuman system of casteism (i.e. Jaat Paat).
  • They denigrated woman, labeling her impure and hurdle in the way of spiritual realization (they thus discriminated over 50% world population!).
  • They tell people to consider all their sufferings and happiness as gifts of God. In this way, they have not only freed themselves from any responsibility, they have also freed the mentally slave masses from their duties and responsibilities in life as well.
  • The result however is that – while the moon and other planets are being explored my science – people in India blindly worship them with various kinds of ritual fasts, ritual bathing, ritual offerings, Pakhand, ostentations etc.
  • Not only this, on account of mental slavery, gullible people continue to have the religious conmen do Path Pooja for the purpose of trivial wants in life here on earth and desire for heaven after death. Accordingly, the common masses were and still are being entangled in many kinds of delusions, doubts and superstitions.
  • To enslave the mind of people, they work in concert with the corrupt rulers, leaders, politicians, business class etc.

With that said, every self-serving Pujaaree (clergy) of every organized religion in the world hides a very cunning face, and that face is revealed only when someone like Guru Nanak, Guru Arjan, Guru Tegh Bahadur, Guru Gobind Singh Bhagat Kabeer, Bhagat Ravi Das etc. stands in the way of the corruption and falsehood of the Pujaaree and their buddies (rulers, politicians, business class etc.).

Having said that, amongst the classes strongly condemned by Baabaa Nanak and shunned by all his successors is the clergy class (Pujaaree).

In fact there is no difference between a beggar sitting in street and a Pujaaree sitting in a religious place. For a beggar that street is a temple where he begs for money in the name of God. Similarly, sitting in a religious place the Pujaaree also begs for offerings (Daan, Bhetaa) in the name of God, prayers, Pooja, emancipation etc. Put simply, these places are the patented trade shops of these beggars. In the SGGS, the clergy class is disapproved because:

  • It extorts money out of simpletons and gullible people by spiritual blackmail, thus robbing the people of the most satisfying Spiritual experience.
  • It spreads demeaning superstition and empty ritualism (Karamkaand) for the purpose of mind control and extortion.
  • It enslaves the mind of people with concocted fear, greed (false promises), invented God and Dharma. The self-serving Pujaaree class is expert and successful in this work because they have all sorts of means and Granth to their disposal to do it.
  • It thereby distorts religious truths and dwarfs the vision of Spiritual Masters to serve its own sleazy ends.
  • It becomes a potent instrument in the hands of political and social oppressors, and helps them in enslaving and exploiting people.
  • It distorts interpretations of scriptures to fit their selfish agenda etc.
  • The Pujaaree group of each religion may have a peculiar robes or appearance, but their Soch (thinking) is the same — exploit people by controlling their mind; keeping them mentally blind or ignorant, fearful, superstitious, doubt-ridden (ਵਹਮ-ਭਰਮ, confused), foolish, tangled in meaningless rituals, greedy, hating and killing ‘others’ etc.

The majority self-professed religious people believe in the Pujaaree-invented fake God. As the Pujaaree’s business (ਧੰਧਾ) increased, the number of man-made religions increased in the world, and the so called God was given different names throughout the world. With this also increased the Pujaaree clique’s prominent places, Deras etc. in the name of God by making some different excuses, Pakhand, false claims etc.

The craftiness of these religious con artists come from their selfishness and their habit of begging

Con Artists

: O people of the world! Be vigilant and Alert;  O brother! you are being robbed even while you are awake! (sggs 972).

Pujaaree (clergy clique) of every religion fleeced/looted the people to fulfill their own wants/needs/interests or to meet their own ends under the pretext of worship.

Pujaaree‘ is a Soch (thinking), which encompasses the Pujaaree clique of each and every organized religion (Mazhab-

The Sikh Gurus, and Bhagats hit hard on the corruption of the Pujaaree systems of the organized religions (Mazhab-

The wagon of the Pakhnadi Pujaaree (clergy) of man-made religions runs on two wheels – (1) fear of their invented God and (2) greed (promises). Manipulated people keep riding this wagon of the concocted fear (of hell, reincarnation etc.) and greed or promises of trivial stuff here and after death (heaven etc.).

They mislead and manipulate the common people with false/gossip stories (ਗੱਪ ਕਹਾਣੀਆਂ) created in the name of their God/messenger of God/Gurus etc. for their own benefit and to keep people away from Giyan-Wisdom. They put condition on their followers to fanatically accept that their messenger of God is the last one and after him there can be no other.

The result of this brainwashing is that Dharma for the common people is not a Way of Life or something to learn. Since this is a difficult path, very few venture on this path who are genuinely interested in real spiritual development and connection with the Creator or the Creator’s Hukam (Cosmic System-Rule-Law of Nature, ਕੁਦਰਤੀ ਨਿਯਮ).

: Kabeer, crowds are following the same path (i.e. the stale and distorted path of falsehoodPakhandKaramkaandsuperstitions…) on which the Pujaaree people are walking; but realizing God is very difficult like climbing a treacherous hill, Kabeer is treading this difficult path. ||165|| (sggs 1373).

Instead, the majority of people go to Gurdwaras or other religious places in the hope of ending their sorrows and fulfilling their trivial demands The self-serving Pujaaree clique can not afford to break this illusion of the masses. Because, if such illusion of the common people is broken, then the Pujaaree people stand to lose their lucrative business (ਧੰਦਾ, Golak) and a freeloading lifestyle (ਵੇਹਲੜ, ਐਸ਼ਪਰਸਤੀ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ). It is also true that many times people don’t want to hear the truth because they don’t want their illusion to be broken!!!

Sikh means a LIFELONG learner/student of the enlightening spiritual GiyanWisdom of the Guru Shabad (SGGS). The reason a Sikh is supposed to be a lifelong learner is a slave or a manipulated mind will get exhausted and eventually render itself useless, and worse dangerous for the individual and for the entire human society at large. However, to the contrary, learning never exhaust the mind.

To manipulate the mind of common people, the self-serving clergy cliques of the man-made religions incessantly repeat concocted stories or unnatural gossip (ਗੱਪਾਂ) as a tool to achieve their aim – fleece people by chaining them in religious paraphernalia or symbols, religious robes, unmeaning rituals (Karamkaand), blind faith, fanaticism, etc.

Unless one’s daily life is guided by Bibek_Budh (reasoning, discriminatingly intellect) we humans are easy prey to become mentally trapped in so many ways, and blindly follow others as sheep follow the herd The Unique, Universal and practical spirituality of the SGGS makes us aware of this enchanting world which is full of mental traps, worldly attractions and their corrupting influences (Bhav Saagar) etc. Hence a Sikh is counseled by the SGGS to always remain Awake and Alert:

Gumat is Unique and Revolutionary

Giyan-Wisdom makes one incapable of being a slave for it protects one from fraud and deception!

: I am a sacrifice to the Divine Giyan-Wisdom forever for it renders ordinary mortals into immortals without delay (Enlightened beings-Gurmukh). (sggs 462).

Guru Nanak (1469-1539), the progenitor Sikh Guru, opposed the organized religion in no uncertain terms. He himself did not start a religion or a Pujaaree system for religions and the Pujaaree systems divide people whereas Guru Nanak was a Uniter.

By writing ‘ੴ ‘ in the 15th century, Guru Nanak debunked, and rejected all nonsense of the clergy cliques in the name of their invented God, the places built in the name of God, religious paraphernalia and symbols, religious garbs etc. in the name of God. The purpose of repeatedly writing ‘ੴ ‘ in the SGGS is to remind Sikhs not to be fooled by the clergy clique’s gossip and rituals.

Guru Nanak used ‘ੴ ‘ (Eko or Iko) for the ENTIRE UNIVERSE! Simply put, ‘ੴ ‘  means one within everything and everywhere, one extends into everything and everywhere, unity of both the Creator and the creation. Guru Nanak had packed everything in ‘ੴ ‘. As the meaning of ‘ੴ ‘ is understood by the conscience (Surt-ਸੁਰਤ) and internalized, one realizes Omnipresent, Universal Energy or HukamONE Creator in me is ONE Creator in all. However, because of business  (ਧੰਧਾ) carried out in its name, the self-serving Pujaaree class did not allow anyone else to understand ‘ੴ ‘.

: The ONE God pervades everywhere; there is no other at all. (sggs 842).
: O God, You are the only ONE forever. (sggs 143).

For the ‘rare‘ enlightened Sikhs who understand (the Gurmukhs), no Shariya remains, no ten commandments remain, no clergy-invented Gods or names remain, no clergy-concocted Sachkhand remains, no Hajj remains, no Tirath locations remain, no Mecca remains, no temple or Harmandir remains, no pre-1469 spiritual concepts remain etc.

However, Guru Nanak’s ‘ੴ ‘ cannot be understood so long the Pujaaree’s invisible God invented from imagination remains in conscience (Surt-ਸੁਰਤ), along with related fear, greed, blind faith (ਅੰਧ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ), doubts/superstitions (ਵੈਹਮ), prominent places, etc.

Those who follow the thinking (Soch-ਸੋਚ) of Qazis, Yogis, Pandits or Brahmins etc. can NOT understand and appreciate the Unique and Revolutionary Sikhi of Guru Nanak.

: The clergy of the Muslim faith was corrupt, the Brahmin was murderous and the Yogi Un-Enlightened. These three (clergy) had become the root cause for the spiritual wreckage and desolation that mankind had come to endure. (sggs 662).

Ending

The Sikh Gurus and Bhagats have been able to reach deep down within themselves to draw out from the Universe its mysteries and wonders and share it with the entire humanity. With Logic, they have revealed to the entire humanity that the Creator, Rabb, God, Allah etc. is not to be found at specific external locations or far away in the sky, but WITHIN our our own Conscience (Surat) here and Now, not after death. They also revealed each one of us is capable of realizing this Universal Energy within – each one of us is capable of hearing the symphony of this Universal Energy and sync the dance of one’s life with its rhythm, Here and Now.

These days, the situation is such that a person who wears religious garbs and tells as many gossip stories (ਗੱਪਾਂ) and magical stories (ਕਰਾਮਾਤਾਂ) as possible, he is called a Brahm Giyani, or a Sant, or a Baabaa, or a Gurmukh etc. Books published in the name of Dharma and faith (ਸ਼ਰਧਾ) are full of such nonsense that has been rejected by the Gurmat (divine Wisdom of the Guru Shabad) in no uncertain terms.

In a nutshell, the Unique and Revolutionary Giyan-Wisdom of the SGGS aims at bringing about a revolution in an individual’s thinking, character and vision by educating and integrating his/her mind.

That said, a bold challenge of Gurmat to all its Sikhs (lifelong learners/students of GiyanWisdom of the SGGS) is to abandon the self-serving Pujaaree (clergy) and what they have written:

  • ਹਮਰਾ ਝਗਰਾ ਰਹਾ ਨ ਕੋਊ ॥ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਮੁਲਾਂ ਛਾਡੇ ਦੋਊ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ : (Bhagat Kabeer Ji says) I have no conflict in my mind whatsoever – no struggle within me anymore. (I have achieved this state because) I have discarded all the claims of the clergy (Pujaaree). |1|| Pause || (sggs 1158).

  1. I just want to say thank you for writing this. It cleared my mind and brought me back.

  2. Thank you, Manjit Sing Ji, for your reply. Welcome to the Gurbani Blog!

write a post on how to attune with God as per SGGS ji

Based on my understanding, God mentioned in the Gurbani of the SGGS is to be realized Within — within Conscience (Surat-

God in the Gurbani is also said to be “ਗੁਣਤਾਸ” (Guntaas) — Treasure of Virtues.

(sggs 900).
(sggs 1147).

Having said that, to put it in very simple terms and in a nutshell — to realize God is to realize Godly Virtues Within one’s Conscience (Surat-

A virtuous life results in a life of the Divine Giyan-Wisdom, and harmony with the Divine Hukam (Universal SYstem-Rule-Law of Nature –

  3. Singh Sahab your posts excellently explain the ignorant situation prevailing all around relating to religion. In SGGS ji it has been mentioned that mind should be attuned to God in order to make life on earth successful. It is very difficult for human being. I would request you to please write a post on how to attune with God as per SGGS ji. Because continuously criticism creates confusion in the minds of Sikhs.
